‘Show me your ways,\u00a0Lord, teach me your paths.’<\/em> (Psalm 25:4)<\/p>\n

 
\nEternal One, holy and mysterious,
\nmy ways are not your ways;
\nnot unless your ways mark my ways
\nthrough and through;<\/p>\n

not unless I renounce
\nthose secret and shameful ways of before
\nand You eradicate every spore
\nof their corruption;<\/p>\n

not unless my obstinate
\nand perverted inclinations
\nyield;<\/p>\n

not unless my hardened heart
\nbreaks;<\/p>\n

not unless my imagination
\nis clarified to reveal
\nthe true colours
\nof your creative kindness;<\/p>\n

not unless I learn to tread your paths
\nwith care and wide-eyed wonder
\nat your vision for even me
\nas one of the redeemed.<\/p>\n

Eternal One, loving and faithful,
\nteach me, school me in your ways;
\ntrain my heart, my will, my imagination
\ntill I am wholly patterned after you.<\/p><\/div>\n
