Lent is almost upon us, but not quite yet, so I’ve opted for a call to worship featuring sacrifice with a twist: a sacrifice of praise for our matchless God.<\/p>\n\n

Call to Worship<\/h3>\n

based on Psalm 113<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

King of all the earth,
\nCreator of the universe,
\nHoly Triune God,
\nFrom everlasting to everlasting, you are Lord.<\/p>\n

We will give thanks to you, O Lord, with our whole hearts,
\nfor your glory is above the heavens;
\nFrom the rising of the sun to it setting,
\nwe will praise the name of the Lord!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You raise the poor from the dust and lift the needy from the ash heap,
\ntransforming them with glory and honor;
\nFrom the rising of the sun to it setting,
\nwe will praise the name of the Lord!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You bring fruitfulness from barrenness
\nand give homes to the solitary;
\nFrom the rising of the sun to it setting,
\nwe will praise the name of the Lord!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who is like our God, the One
\nwho looks down from the heights on the heavens on the earth?
\nFrom the rising of the sun to it setting,
\nwe will praise the name of the Lord!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is our God, the Holy One.
\nCome before him with thanksgiving
\nand offer him the sacrifice of praise.
