Merciful God,
\nwe confess how easy it is for us to begin to adopt
\nthe attitudes and actions of the world around us;
\nto let our lives be shaped by contemporary culture
\nrather than by Your call.<\/p>\n

Lord, in Your mercy,
\nhear and forgive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We confess how often we think of our own interests first\u2014
\nmore concerned with our own status and well-being
\nthan with the well-being of others.<\/p>\n

Lord, in Your mercy,
\nhear and forgive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We confess that we have not always treated one another
\nas valued members of Your Body, the Church;
\nthat we have allowed intolerance and resentment to tear us apart.<\/p>\n

Lord, in Your mercy,
\nhear and forgive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We confess that we do not always acknowledge You as Lord,
\ntrusting in our own abilities and following our own goals
\nrather than submitting ourselves to Your will and Your call.<\/p>\n

Lord, in Your mercy,

Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, transform us.
\nChange us from the inside out,
\nso that our words and our lives would bring honour and glory to You,
