This prayer sheet<\/span> is inspired by the February 2022 theme of the month: Change. <\/p>\n

In these prayers we ask God to transform our hearts so we may live in the truth he desires and faithfully pray for our hurting world.<\/p>\n

A. CALL TO WORSHIP<\/strong>
\n(based on Psalm 24<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
\nthe world, and all who live in it;
\nfor he founded it on the seas
\nand established it on the waters. <\/strong>
\nWho may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
\nWho may stand in his holy place?
\nThe one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
\nwho does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. <\/strong>
\nThey will receive blessing from the Lord
\nand vindication from God their Saviour.
\nSuch is the generation of those who seek him,
\nwho seek your face, God of Jacob. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

C. PRAYER OF THE HEART<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBut you desire honesty from the heart,
\nso you can teach me to be wise in my inmost being.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 51:6)<\/p>\n

Not just in my heart
\nbut in the secret space it holds.<\/p>\n

In the heart of my heart.
\nIn the place where I am myself.
\nIn the space that I protect the most
\nand share the least.<\/p>\n

In the hidden chamber
\nthat I sometimes close off
\neven from myself.<\/p>\n

In the realm
\nwhere you wait and watch,
\nwhere you see each thing
\nthat lies in shadow,
\nwhere you know the names
\nof all that makes its home in me.<\/p>\n

Here in my secret heart;
\nhere teach me to move
\nwith your wisdom,
\nto open the doors
\nthat will draw me deeper still,
\nto live in the truth
\nthat you desire;
\nhere let me open the windows wide
\nso that those who pass by
\nwill see you looking out.<\/p>\n\n

\nBlessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice \u2026<\/strong>

Hear the words of Jesus:
\nIf you love me, then listen to my voice and do what I say. And I and my Father will draw close to you, and will make our home within you. I am leaving you with a gift \u2014 a gift the world cannot give: peace of heart and mind. So do not let your heart be troubled or afraid.<\/em><\/p>\n

Go from here to love and serve the Lord, confident in the peace that Christ offers to each one of us. <\/p>\n
