Reflection at the end of a day<\/h3>\n

 
\nIn the silence
\nwe hold before God the day now passing into history
\nand we give thanks<\/p>\n

silence<\/em><\/p>\n

Lord, for this day
\nwe give you thanks.<\/strong>
\nLord, for the moments when we encountered grace and beauty
\nwe give you thanks.<\/strong>
\nLord, for conversations that have made an impact on our lives
\nwe give you thanks.<\/strong>
\nLord, for the times when we have seen you at work
\nwe give you thanks.<\/strong>
\n 
\nIn the silence we hold before God the hurts of the past day<\/p>\n

silence<\/em><\/p>\n

Lord, we remember the times
\nwhen we have not shown love
\nthrough our thoughts, words and actions.
\nWe seek forgiveness.<\/strong>
\nLord, we remember the times
\nwhen we have been hurt by the words and actions of others.
\nHelp us to forgive.<\/strong>
\nLord, we remember the times
\nwhen we have been distracted from seeking after you.
\nLord, make yourself known to us,
\nhelp us to see you
\nin the midst of the noise and clamour of this world<\/strong>
\n 
\nIn the silence we hold before God tomorrow
\nand the opportunities it bears<\/p>\n

silence<\/em><\/p>\n

Lord, we pray that your Holy Spirit would guide us
\ninto the ways of righteousness
\nthat you would give us strength for the journey.<\/strong>
\nLord, you know the shape of our lives at this time,
\nyou know the delights we enjoy and the pressures we endure.
\nGuide us and give us wisdom to know your will,
\nstrengthen our resolve to discern your call.<\/strong>
\nLord, make yourself known to us in the daily pattern of our lives.
\nHelp us to see the fruit borne out of small actions.<\/strong>
\nLord, help us to live faithfully amidst uncertainty.
\nFortify us to be followers in your Way.<\/strong>
\nLord, help us to not live as autonomous units,
\nbut as fellow travellers on a journey.<\/strong>
\nLord, build up the community of which we are part,
\nand shape it around the cross of your Son Jesus Christ.<\/strong>
\nLord, as we sleep tonight,
\nmay we rest in the knowledge of your relentless love.
\nWhen we wake tomorrow,
\nmay we be prepared for all that lies ahead.<\/strong>
