inspired by Isaiah 61: 1-4, 8-11<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Holy God,
\nopen our eyes to the presence of your Spirit
\nupon us, within us, among us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For our apathy in the presence of oppression,
\nForgive us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If we have contributed to the brokenheartedness of anyone,
\nForgive us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For our participation in systems that enslave,
\nForgive us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we are deaf to your good news,
\nHave mercy and open our ears.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When our mouths remain too tightly closed,
\nLoosen our lips with songs of praise.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hear our prayer, O God, and forgive our sins.
\nHold us in your mercy, now and forever. Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n
