A prayer<\/h3>\n

Lord,
\nteach me your way of treating others \u2013
\nsinners, children, Pharisees, Pilates and Herods,
\nand also John the Baptists.<\/p>\n

Teach me your way of eating and drinking,
\nand how to act when I’m tired from work and need rest.<\/p>\n

Teach me compassion for the suffering, the poor, the blind, and the lame.
\nYou who shed tears, show me how to live my deepest emotions.
\nAbove all, I want to learn how you endured your Cross.<\/p>\n

Teach me your way of looking at people:
\nthe way you glanced at Peter after his denial,
\nthe way you touched the heart of the rich young man
\nand the hearts of your disciples.<\/p>\n

I would like to meet you as you really are,
\nsince you change those who really know you.
\nIf only I could hear you speak
\nas when you spoke in the synagogue of Capernaum
\nor on the Mount of Beatitudes!<\/p>\n

Give me grace to live my life, within and without,
\nthe way you lived your life, O Lord. Amen.<\/p>\n
