a prayer poem<\/em><\/p>\n

\nAnother morning and I wake with thirst
\nfor the goodness I do not have. I walk
\nout to the pond and all the way God has
\ngiven us such beautiful lessons. Oh Lord,
\nI was never a quick scholar but sulked
\nand hunched over my books past the
\nhour and the bell; grant me, in your
\nmercy, a little more time. Love for the
\nearth and love for you are having such a
\nlong conversation in my heart. Who
\nknows what will finally happen or
\nwhere I will be sent, yet already I have
\ngiven a great many things away, expect-
\ning to be told to pack nothing, except the
\nprayers which, with this thirst, I am
\nslowly learning.\n<\/div>\n
