May God bless you with discomfort…
\nat easy answers, hard hearts,
\nhalf-truths, and superficial relationships.
\nMay God bless you so that you may live
\nfrom deep within your heart
\nwhere God’s Spirit dwells.<\/p>\n

May God bless you with anger…
\nat injustice, oppression,
\nand exploitation of people.
\nMay God bless you so that you may
\nwork for justice, freedom, and peace.<\/p>\n

May God bless you with tears…
\nto shed for those who suffer from pain,
\nrejection, starvation and war.
\nMay God bless you so that you
\nmay reach out your hand
\nto comfort them and turn their pain into joy.<\/p>\n

And may God bless you with
\nenough foolishness
\nto believe that you can make a difference
\nin this world, in your neighbourhood,
\nso that you will courageously try
\nwhat you don’t think you can do, but,
\nin Jesus Christ you’ll have all the strength necessary.<\/p>\n

May God bless you to fearlessly
\nspeak out about injustice,
\nunjust laws, corrupt politicians,
\nunjust and cruel treatment of prisoners,
\nand senseless wars,
\ngenocides, starvations, and poverty that is so pervasive.<\/p>\n

May God bless you that you remember
\nwe are all called
\nto continue God’s redemptive work
\nof love and healing
\nin God’s place, in and through God’s name,
\nin God’s Spirit, continually creating
\nand breathing new life and grace
\ninto everything and everyone we touch.
