Micah 4:1-5  (NIV UK)<\/span><\/h3>\n

1<\/sup>  In the last days
\n     the mountain of the LORD\u2019s temple will be established
\n         as the highest of the mountains;
\n     it will be exalted above the hills,
\n         and peoples will stream to it.
\n2<\/sup>  Many nations will come and say,
\n      \u2018Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
\n          to the temple of the God of Jacob.
\n     He will teach us his ways,
\n          so that we may walk in his paths.\u2019
\n     The law will go out from Zion,
\n          the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
\n3<\/sup>  He will judge between many peoples
\n          and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide.
\n     They will beat their swords into ploughshares
\n          and their spears into pruning hooks.
\n     Nation will not take up sword against nation,
\n          nor will they train for war any more.
\n4<\/sup>  Everyone will sit under their own vine
\n          and under their own fig-tree,
\n     and no one will make them afraid,
\n          for the LORD Almighty has spoken.
\n5<\/sup>  All the nations may walk
\n          in the name of their gods,
\n     but we will walk in the name of the LORD
\n          our God for ever and ever.<\/p>\n

Reflection<\/h3>\n

The promise of God is that he doesn’t need us all to be great theologians, or startling preachers; or even very brave – just to be courageous enough in our Christian witness to let him use our little knowledge, our little faith, our small amount of understanding as he can do, and will do – to demonstrate his power.<\/p>\n

Prayer<\/h3>\n

Lord, thank you for your promise, that takes away our fear. We see the world differently when we see that it is still your world. We deal with the future differently when we understand that it is still your future, and that you hold us now, and will hold us then. Amen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
