While searching for ‘dry wilderness’ on my go-to online prayer resource – the treasure trove, re-worship.blogspot.com<\/a> – I found this call to worship by Rev. Nathan Decker<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

It is inspired by Isaiah 35 and recognizes both the reality and pain of the wilderness experience and our sustaining hope in God for a life beyond the wilderness.<\/p>\n

Call to Worship<\/h3>\n

(inspired by Isaiah 35: 1-10<\/a>)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Too long have we walked this dry desert wilderness
\n    searching for salvation.
\n 
\nWe’ve drunk the cup of sorrow,
\nburned our feet upon the sands of misery,
\nand watched as our children were devoured
\n    by jackals, lions, and beasts.<\/span>
\n 
\n“Be Strong! Do not fear! Here is our God!
\nGod will come and save you!”
\nToday, we walk in the Holy Way,
\n    the highway of the wise!
\n 
\nWhere the lame leap as deer!
\nWhere grateful blind eyes see colors!<\/span>
\n 
\nAnd the speechless sing out to our merciful Lord!
\nBlessed be the Lord our God!
\n 
\nPraise the Lord, O Zion!<\/span><\/p>\n
