\nJust as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.<\/p>\n

Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: \u201cThe one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.\u201d Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, \u201cRabbi!\u201d and kissed him. The men seized Jesus and arrested him.<\/p>\n

Jesus said,

Lord, we seek to feel your sadness,
\nwe seek to share your tears.<\/strong><\/p>\n

O Christ, help us to become one with you.
\nIn your defenceless love,
\n    teach us the grace of self-offering.
\nIn your weakness,
\n    teach us the grace of acceptance.
\nIn your betrayal,
\n    teach us the grace of forgiveness.
\nIn your testings,
\n    teach us the grace of believing.<\/p>\n
