\nThis prayer sheet<\/span> is inspired by the June 2018 theme of the month: Nature. <\/p>\n

In these prayers we look to God to help us to be better stewards of this good and beautiful corner of his creation.<\/p>\n

For personal use or to share.<\/p>\n

A. OPENING PRAYER<\/strong><\/p>\n

Praise be to God,
\nwho rescues us from the power of darkness;
\nwho redeems us, and sets us free!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Praise be to Jesus Christ,
\nthe first born of all creation,
\nthrough whom all things were made,
\nin heaven and on the earth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Praise be to the Spirit of God,
\nwhose presence sustains us,
\nand whose breath renews all creation. <\/strong> <\/p>\n

Behold! I am making all things new!
\nCome, O God, and make your home among us.
\nPour out your Spirit,
\nand renew the face of the earth. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

B. PSALM<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.”   (Psalm 96:13<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Let us rejoice before the Lord \u2026<\/p>\n\n

C. PRAYER FOR RENEWAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Creating God, teach us to use carefully the good gifts of this planet, our first home. Let us be mindful of the hundreds of generations that might yet come. Help us to minimise waste, and to recycle all that we can.<\/p>\n

We also pray for a recycling in our personal lives. By the grace of your Christ and the rejuvenation of your Spirit, recycle in us those gifts and virtues that may have become ragged or been cast aside.<\/p>\n

Recycle our faith, that we may run and not be weary, walk and not faint. Recycle our hope, that we may rise up from pessimism like the flight of eagles. Recycle our love, that justice may roll on like a flood, and righteousness like an ever flowing stream.<\/p>\n

Loving God, let us model our approach to recycling on your grace which regards no gift as trivial and no person as redundant.<\/p>\n

For Christ\u2018s sake. <\/p>\n

Amen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

E. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH<\/strong><\/p>\n

We believe in God the Creator, who created and is creating everything:
\nthe universe, the world, the plants and animals, and us; each of us, unique, individual and beloved of God.<\/p>\n

We believe in God the Christ, who saved and is saving everything: the universe, the world, the plants and animals, and us: each of us; unique, individual and beloved of the Christ.<\/p>\n

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who guided and is guiding everything: the universe, the world, the plants and animals, and us; each of us, unique, individual and beloved of the Spirit.<\/p>\n

We believe that this one God in three persons is present among us, working directly in our lives and the lives of all who are born into this world, striving to bring us back into harmony with all creation and with God: forgiving, healing, touching everyone, never rejecting any who willingly receive this freely offered gift of love and grace and eternal life.<\/p>\n\n

F. LET US PRAY<\/strong><\/p>\n
