\nI love the term ‘grace note’. It’s so evocative.<\/p>\n

Technically, a ‘grace note’ is a musical note not essential to the harmony or melody, designed to embellish or \u2018ornament\u2019 the music and add extra flourish. It colours, without clashing.<\/p>\n

 
\nHere is a grace note in one of Chopin’s manuscripts.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 
\nThe term, ‘grace note’, is also a beautiful metaphor for all the little graces that colour and enhance our lives.<\/p>\n

May God help us to develop an ear and appreciation for the grace notes that echo all around us, and may He bless us with the capacity to add grace notes of our own.
\n <\/p>\n\n

Grateful Praise<\/h3>\n

God created the heavens,
\nstar-spattered with beauty,
\nand the earth, teeming with life.
\nAnd God set us on the Earth,
\nalive and wide-eyed,
\nable to see and hear,
\nfeel and taste life’s beauty,
\nable to dream and plan,

\nthis our hymn of grateful praise!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nelders to guide us,
\nand leaders to inspire us.

\nto save us from the path of destruction and sin,
\nand to be a strengthening presence
\nin our trials and temptations.

\nthis our hymn of grateful praise!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every good thing that fills our souls with gladness
\nand our lives with light
\nis a gift from God.
\nWe have been entrusted with unfathomable riches.
\nFor this, let us come before God
\nin thanksgiving and grateful praise.
\nLord of all to thee we raise
