The words gratia<\/em> and gratias<\/em> point to a connection between grace and gratitude.<\/div>\n

\nTo bring to a close our reflections on the theme of “grace”, I’ve selected some Latin terms, a song, a reading, a bit of church history and a prayer of thanksgiving by Thomas Ken<\/strong>, writer of the traditional doxology, \u201cPraise God from whom all blessings flow.\u201d

By grace alone (Sola gratia<\/em>)<\/h3>\n

[God] has saved us and called us to a holy life \u2013 not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace<\/span>. This grace<\/span> was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Saviour, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
