From Ash Wednesday to Easter and beyond<\/h3>\n

A reflection<\/em>
\n 
\n 
\nRemember
\nthat you are made of dust
\nand you will return to dust.
\nRemember too
\nthat we are made in the image of God –
\nmale and female,
\nold and young,
\nwhite and all persons of color
\nand geniuses
\nand people with attention deficit disorder.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a strange and confusing combination,
\nthis dustiness
\nand this freedom to love
\nand to be selfish
\nand to be afraid
\nand to know hope
\nand joy
\nand wonder.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t need to know all the answers,
\nbut I\u2019d appreciate help remembering
\nthat the Cross and the Resurrection
\nadd a new dimension
\nand a new promise.
\nI remember this:
\nWhen we \u201cDo this\u201d in remembrance of Him
\nthe dustiness
\nand God\u2019s image
\nand my history
\nwalk together,
\nled by His hand into life.
\nMy life.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a strange business,
\nthis combining of
\n dust
\n and
\n glory.<\/p>\n
