lamenting in times like these<\/h3>\n<p>You are the God who hears:<br \/>\nhear our prayer today for all who lament or repent.<\/p>\n<p>For those among us who face discrimination every day<br \/>\nbecause of their skin colour,<br \/>\nwe lament.<\/p>\n<p>For those among us with white skin who benefit<br \/>\nfrom racist systems sometimes even without realizing it,<br \/>\nwe repent.<\/p>\n<p>For those among us who have struggled and waited so long<br \/>\nfor the Promised Land of freedom and equality,<br \/>\nwe lament.<\/p>\n<p>For those among us who have acted in racist ways<br \/>\nand have hurt people of colour,<br \/>\nwe repent.<\/p>\n<p>For those protesting injustice who face police brutality<br \/>\nand a justice system rigged against them,<br \/>\nwe lament.<\/p>\n<p>For those who think racism is someone else\u2019s problem,<br \/>\nand not a problem for humanity,<br \/>\nwe repent.<\/p>\n<p>God of hope, show us how to work for justice together,<br \/>\nstanding up for what is right,<br \/>\nstepping in when something&#8217;s wrong,<br \/>\nshouldering each other\u2019s burdens,<br \/>\nholding each other accountable,<br \/>\nrighting the wrongs we\u2019ve done,<br \/>\nspeaking truth to power.<\/p>\n<p>We pray for change, lasting change,<br \/>\nfor protection for protesters,<br \/>\nfor a de-escalation of
