\nIt was good to reflect with you over a twelve-day period on different aspects of \u201cThe Gift\u201d the Father has sent to minister to us and through us as we seek to live as Jesus\u2019 disciples and witness to the new life we have in Christ.<\/div>\n
\nMay the Scriptures that were featured in the series continue to bear fruit in our lives as we go forward, led by the Spirit, in step with the Spirit, living by the Spirit (Galatians 5:13, 25).<\/div>\n

 
\nThe Gift #1 : The Holy Spirit<\/a> ||| Acts 1:4-5 (NIV)
\nOn one occasion, while he was eating with the apostles, Jesus gave them this command: \u2018Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #2 : For the asking<\/a> ||| Luke 11:13 (NIV)
\nJesus said: \u2018If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #3 : Re-minder<\/a> ||| John 14:26 (NIV)
\nJesus said: \u2018The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #4 : Counsel<\/a> ||| Luke 12:11-12 (NIV)
\nJesus said: \u2018When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #5 : Tell me<\/a> ||| John 15:26 (NIV)
\nJesus said: \u2018When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father \u2013 the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father \u2013 he will testify about me.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #6 : Guidance<\/a> ||| John 16:13 (NIV)
\nJesus said: \u2018When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #7 : Traces<\/a> ||| Acts 1:8 (NIV)
\nJesus said: \u2018You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #8 : Adoption<\/a> ||| Romans 8:15 (NIV)
\nPaul writes, \u2018The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, \u201cAbba, Father.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #9 : Joy<\/a> ||| 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 (NIV)
\nPaul writes, \u2018You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #10 : In us<\/a> ||| 2 Timothy 1:13-14 (NIV)
\nPaul writes, \u2018What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you \u2013 guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #11 : Promised<\/a> ||| Ephesians 1:13-14 (NIV)
\nPaul writes, \u2018And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God\u2019s possession \u2013 to the praise of his glory.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gift #12 : Recreator<\/a> ||| Titus 3:3-8 (NIV)
\nPaul writes: \u2018At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.
