Writing songs your church will want to sing : Flevo 2009

Workshop in Baldekijn, Friday 10am, 21 August 2009
Description
Churches may differ, but most church services have a musical component.
How can our songs compete with the songs already on offer?
How do we make them fresh and authentic, timely and timeless, speaking for
the people in our congregation and the people of God everywhere?
The local church is an ideal context to develop new worship songs for local use and the wider church. How can we take advantage of all the benefits we enjoy as songwriters attached to a local worshipping community?
Rev. Irene Bom is an ordained Church of Scotland minister, based in Rotterdam. She serves the Presbytery of Europe in a part-time capacity in the fields of worship resourcing, children's and youth ministry. Her business card, however, says "Irene Bom - Songwriter".
